ICMR in collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh will hold a National level examination for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF), for Indian national candidates at Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkatta Mumbai, Guwahati, Hyderabad and Varanasi on Sunday, July 22ND, 2012.

A total of 150 Fellowships would be awarded; 120 fellowships awarded in Life Sciences stream
(like Microbiology, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Human Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Immunology, Pharmacology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Botany, Veterinary Sciences ), and 30 fellowships in Social Sciences stream (like Psychology, Sociology, Home Science, Statistics, Anthropology, Social work and Health Economics).

Online Diploma Program in Bioethics a ICMR-IGNOU Joint Initiative

Applications are being invited for one year Online Diploma Program in Bioethics under the ICMR-IGNOU Joint Initiative

Indian Council of Medical Research under the project "Centrally Co-ordinated Bioethics Education for India" which is continuation of  "Long Term Training Program in Bioethics for India" has launched a One
year Online PG Diploma in Bioethics program as distance learning in the year 2011 under the ICMR-IGNOU joint initiative. The Program is funded by Fogarty International Centre, National Institute of Health,
USA and is being conducted by the National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR), Chennai. The first batch of 43 trainees will be completing this one year program in June 2012. The program includes various
methodologies of distance learning like virtual class, online study material and online exams. This Diploma program covers a wide range of courses in Bioethics like philosophy, ethics in clinical and social
science research related to health, research methodology, education and communication technologies, research ethics and health related laws.
