Qualification:
M.Sc first class and Ph.D

Desirable- research experience in Plant Molecular Biology (transgenics/proteomics), Molecular Microbiology, Environmental Sciences. Candidates applying for Project Assistant (level –IV) must mention the title of Ph. D, awarding University and the date of award.

Salary: Rs. 20,000/-PM consolidated. Higher fellowship (Rs. 25.000/-, PA, level-V) may be considered for candidates with 2 years (post Ph.D) relevant experience.

Details
The Discipline of Marine Biotechnology and Ecology of CSMCRI, Bhavnagar is actively engaged in multidisciplinary research in frontier areas of modern biology and biotechnology. Some of the ongoing/new projects (sponsored by CSIR, DBT, etc) of the Discipline for which we wish to 2 Project Assistants (level –IV) are:

· Cloning and characterization of stress-responsive genes, promoter isolation and development of transgenic crop plants
· Climate change and adaptation- Phenology and population dynamics of halophytes
· Environmental monitoring (sea, sediments and inland areas)
· Mapping of marine biodiversity (seaweeds and marine microbes) using molecular tools and techniques

Age: Not more than 35 years as on interview date (relaxation as per CSIR rules).

The posts are purely temporary for duration of sponsored project/scheme only. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidates for claiming extension or absorption in CSMCRI/CSIR.

No traveling or any other allowances will be paid for attending the interview.
