Informatics today plays a crucial role in research and clinical practice, in areas ranging from the use of bioinformatics to understand human genetics to the role of health informatics in maintaining patient information. This attains more importance as there has been an avalanche of information which has made it essential to share, analyze and retrieve data.

This workshop
will be the first step to manage and exploit the resources as well as use the various software tools available on the web. The basics of information retrieval, medical databases and data mining tools will be covered. This workshop based on the CME format is aimed at medical students and graduates who are desirous of practicing informatics in their clinical work.

The workshop is being organized by the Bio-medical Informatics Centre, Department of Biophysics, AIIMS and is fully supported by ICMR.
There is no course fee. The selected students will, however, have to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. A maximum of 30 participants will be taken for the hands-on, however, the lectures will be open to all, though prior intimation is required.
