IT-Assistant under ENVIS project

The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology is an autonomous research organization under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India. It is a premier Institute of national and international repute, devoted to research in various aspects of atmospheric sciences. The Institute has excellent infrastructural facilities such as high performance computers, observational laboratories, modern library, workshop, etc. It has a strong link with various universities and national and international organizations.
Applications are invited for the Environment Information System (ENVIS) center (a project of Ministry of Environment and Forest) at IITM on the subject area “Acid Rain and Atmospheric Pollution”. The center is gradually building up an inventory of information material on the air quality and its impact, disseminate information / data electronically and provide interactive WEB page for it. The candidate is required to develop the dynamical website and its applications in professional manner. The candidate will also be involved in maintaining the existing web portal of the prestigious institute project “system of air quality forecasting and research” (SAFAR-2010) for the commonwealth games to be held in India during October 2010. The appointment is temporary.

IT-Assistant– 1 Post (One Post)
(Consolidated Emoluments - Rs.12,000 P.M.)
Essential Qualifications: M.C.A. /B.E. (Computers /Information Technology) or Equivalent
With one year experience in designing and developing the website. Knowledge of atleast one of the programming language (viz. Java/ dot net /asp/ Java script /php) helpful in development of professional website is essential.

Other details:
Age Limit : 30 years as on 1.6.2010.
Tenure: 1 year which can be automatically extendable further based on satisfactory performance.
Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for physically handicapped and as per rule for ex-servicemen.
Only those candidates who fulfill the above mentioned criteria and essential qualification are invited to attend the walk-in interview along with filled-in proforma (attached) and all certificates /mark sheets in support of their qualification and experience.
