Project : Glaciological study of Phuche Glacier Ladakh Range

Junior Research Fellow (One post)
Emolument: Rs 12,000 + HRA (as admissible) p.m. (consolidated) for first two years, will be enhanced to Rs 14,000 p.m. during third year (on review of performance).
Duration: Three years or till the termination or completion of the project whichever is earlier.
Qualification: First class M.Sc./M.Tech. in Geology/Earth Sciences/Environmental Sciences/
Hydrology/Meteorology/Geophysics/Physics or in any allied subject. NET/GATE qualified candidates
will be preferred.

Mountaineering Assistant (One post)
Emolument: Rs 10,000 consolidated
Place of work: Ladakh
Qualification: 12th pass + basic certification course in Mountaineering from Government approved
Mountaineering Institutes.
Desirable: Advance certification course in Mountaineering.
Note: In case suitable candidates with 12th pass + basic certification course in Mountaineering is
not available, candidates with 10th pass + basic certification course in Mountaineering will be
considered.

General conditions:
1. Maximum 35 years as on the date of interview.
2. The post are purely temporary on co-terminus basis and do not entitle the appointee to any claim
implicit or explicit for any NIH post.
3. Candidate can directly attend the walk-in-interview  in the
Chamber of the Head, Western Himalayan Regional Centre, Satwari, Jammu Cantt. (0191-
243 2619) along with complete bio-data, passport size photograph and original proof of
qualification and experience.
4. No TA and DA will be paid for attending the interview.
5. Bio-data format: Advt. No., post applied for, name of candidate, father’s name, date of birth, age,
nationality, marital status, category (SC/ST/OBC/PH/Gen), address for communication, telephone
no., details of qualifications (high School onwards giving exam passed, year of passing, name of
board/university, subjects, division with percentage of marks, working experience, any other
additional information), copy of qualification and experience certificates, list of enclosures and
signature of candidate with date.
6. Preference will be given to the candidates having working experience in glaciology
