Research Associate
Title of the Project "Molecular and genetic characterization of Drosophila and mouse Ataxin-2 binding protein 1 in the context of spinocerebellar Ataxia type 2" funded by the Department of Science and Technology.
Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications/experience: Ph.D. (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or allied Sciences). Minimum 60% marks/equivalent grade at Masters Level.
Preference: Preference will be given to candidates with good academic / industry records and capable of managing a project independently.
Job requirement: Work with a team of graduate students and project assistants to characterize Drosophila and mouse Ataxin-2 binding protein 1 in the context of spinocerebellar Ataxia type 2.
Tenure of the project Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period of two years subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the study project.
Consolidated fixed emoluments per month Rs. 22,000/- to Rs. 24,000/- per month based on academic record and work experience of the candidate + HRA as admissible

The appointment will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be IISER-Pune appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any IISER-Pune post/fellowship. The interviews will be conducted in the 2nd /3rd Week of May 2011, at IISER, Sai Trinity Building Pashan, Pune - 411021. Exact dates will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates.

Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.The candidates recommended by the Screening Committee to be called for interview would be informed through e-mail. The candidates recommended by the Screening Committee should directly appear before the Selection Committee for an interview at IISER-Pune.No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer.
