Just thought of asking a question to all people who are visiting my blog...
Is India Research"Able" country ??
From my perspective India is more intellectually strong, whence we should see a faster pace in emerging field of research .But this is not seen as expected because we are always running towards the conventional items prevaling in the society ......likely
Ready made courses Engg, MBBS, MBA and More salary jobs....obviously IT Companies or financial companies......
Cycle 1: Do your engg...... go for MBA, MS ,MTECH.... get a decent job.....marry ....have kids....routine or
Cycle 2: do engg...... get a good job(obviously IT) what ever your background is.....savemoney MBA or...get promotion....marry ...routine
But where does research or the childlike inclinations towards naive thoughts fall in if almost all Indian talent pool follows these cycles....
There is surely a change needed(i am not expecting for us), atleast for our future generations.... there should be more awareness towards research oppurtunities in the Young age..... they should be nourtured in that direction.
India is surely research sufficient...yes surely ....but we are ignorant of that fact.
How many took the path of Dr. Abdul kalam??? how many really know about the
Indian Institute of Space Technology and Indian Institute of Astrophysiscs which are the educational bodies of ISRO.These institutes provide UG ,PGcourses. Yes I have taken the job of spreading the word of research... will you join me?

a few observations:
in india, the poor compensation and the time research takes is often discouraging. things however are changing.
not that no one knows about the opportunities for research in india. getting in there is only for the best among the best - seats are few. getting into the universities in the usa for research is much easier.
like i said, things r changing. my friends who work in college say that with the meltdown and layoffs, science and arts colleges are experienceing an unprecedented rush.
Yeah You really observe the backlogs in the indian research system....yes poor compensation during PHD or MS or Mtech is a prevailing for so many years....but things are changing....look at CSIR announcing PG admissions for students with a monthly stipend of 25000 rs.THis really seems to be soothing for students who really donot want to leave India for research
