Jobs/Vacancies: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali calls for JRF in a DST funded project

What is this all about?
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals to work as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a research project funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST).

Who Can Apply?
M.Sc. Chemistry with at least 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point scale or 60% marks and having passed NET (CSIR/UGC)/ NET (LS)/ GATE (>75 percentile) test.

Area of Work/Job profile: Junior Research Fellow
Project Title: Synthesis, Structure, and Spectroscopic Studies of Low Valent Late Transition Metal Complexes with N-arylimidoylamidine and Other Neutral Chelating Ligands

This project aims towards the development of catalysts for hydrosilylation reactions based on low valent late transition metals. Hydrosilylation is an important industrial process to convert alkenes, alkynes and other unsaturated molecules to organosilicon compounds. A student working in this project will be trained to accomplish reactions using a glove-box and standard Schlenk/vacuum line techniques. Additionally, the student will also learn how to use various spectroscopic and spectrometric techniques for characterization of reaction products and single crystal X-ray diffraction method for structure determination.
