ENGAGEMENT OF PRF/JRF FOR RESEARCH PROJECTS in Regional Plant Resource Centre Bhubaneswar
Interested eligible candidates may appear walk-in-interview for the following posts of Project/ Junior Research Fellows to be held at the Centre on 10th Februarv 2010 at 10-30 AM.
Candidates should submit their application/CV for specific post alongwith relevant documents in favour of their eligibility; the documents will be verified with Originals during interview.
Post: Project Research Fellow (PRF) - one
Project-1 : "Biodiversity Conservation through community based Natural Resource Management in the state of Orissa" (CBNRM project)
Funding Agency: Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. New Delhi.
Place of posting – Sambalpur,Orissa
Eligibility: M.Sc. (Forestry/Environment Science/Agriculture)/ MBA/ M.A. in Social Science with PGDRM/M.S.W. with minimum 3 (three) years of working experience in Forestry/NRM/Rural Development Sector in reputed organization. Should have experience on community mobilization on natural resources and livelihood issues, communities project implementation, documentation.
Emoluments: Rs. 15,000/- P.M.

Project-2 : Phytochemical analysis and screening of anticancer compound from selected medicinal plants species"
Funding Agency: National Medicinal Plants Board, Dept. of AYUSH, Government of India. New Delhi

Eligibility: M.Sc. in Botany 1 Life Sciences 1Biotechnology with specialization in biochemistry, phytochemistry, molecular physiology, molecular biology, cytogenetics and related area. NET/GATE qualified candidates with relevant experience would be preferred. The upper age limit is 28 years and relaxable upto 5 years in the case of SC/ST candidates.
Emoluments: Rs. 8000/-- (consolidated) P.M. plus HRA and M.A. as per the institute rules

Project-3 : Molecular screening of elite/plus tree of Saraca asoca(Roxb.)de Wilde from natural population of Similipal Biosphrere Reserves and to establish a gene bank for large scale propagation for ex situ conservation

Eligibility: M.Sc (Botany)/ M.Sc (Ag) Horticulture with experience in plant tissue culture, molecular biology and nursery propagation technique.
Emoluments: Rs.8000/- per month + HRA (As per funding agency)

Project-4: Studies on biodiversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in mangrove ecosystems of Bhitarkanika, Orissa.
Funding Agency : CSIR, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
Place of posting – Bhubaneswar, Orissa
Eligibility: First class M.. Sc. in Microbiology / Botany. Only NET/GATE/Lectureship (NET) qualified candidates are eligible for JRF. Candidates for SRF should have two years research experience as evidenced by publications. Candidates applying for SRF should not be registered for Ph.D. with any university in India or abroad.
