Summer Students' Visiting Programme (SSVP 2010)
Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar offers an opportunity to bright students to work in exciting research areas of Theoretical Physics and Experimental Physics.
The programme will be conducted from May 03 to June 11, 2010 when each student will be assigned a project to work under the guidance of a faculty Member of the Institute in one of the following areas:
Theory : Condensed matter physics, cosmology, nuclear physics, particle physics, quantum computation and string theory
Experiment : Accelerator based materials science, nanoparticles, surface physics, Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, molecular beam epitaxy and thin films
Who Can Apply?
M.Sc. (Physics) 1st year students
B.E./B.Tech. (interested in either of the above mentioned areas) 4th year students.(Applications for SSVP-2010 will be considered for those students who will complete their degree in the year of 2011. )
Stipend
Selected candidates will be paid a stipend (@ Rs.4000/- per month) for the above period. A round trip second sleeper train fare and other local conveyances will also be reimbursed on completion of the project. In addition, outstation candidates will be provided free hostel accommodation.
