Human Embryonic Stem Cells Available for Research at NIRRH Mumbai

Human Embryonic Stem Cells Available for Research

Two well characterized human embryonic stem cell lines KIND-1 and KIND-2 (Kumar et al 2009) are available at Stem Cell Biology Department, NIRRH for basic research. These have been derived on human
feeders and show good propensity to differentiate into endoderm (KIND-1) and mesoderm (KIND-2) (Nagvenkar et al, 2011). The cell lines have also been adapted to feeder free conditions.

Those interested in obtaining these stem cells may send a request along with two page write up on the proposed research work to Dr. Deepa Bhartiya (Scientist E), e-mail id: bhartiyad@nirrh.res.in ;
deepa.bhartiya@yahoo.in . All requests will be considered by a joint committee of ICMR and DBT, and a MOU need to be signed.
