Applications (8 copies) in the prescribed forms of the University are invited from the intending eligible candidates for the post of Professor K.D. Malaviya Chair in the Department of Applied Geology, D.U. so as to reach the undersigned .

Qualification and experience: An eminent scholar in the field of Earth Sciences (Petroleum Geology/Sedimentology/ Biostratigraphy (Micropaleontology/Palynology)/Petroleum Geochemistry/
Reservoir Engineering/Exploration Geophysics/ Structural Geology and Tectonics/Remote Sensing), with
published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with 10 years of experience in Post-Graduate teaching and/or research at the university/national level institution/training and research institute of national importance/experience of guiding research at doctoral level; OR an outstanding scholar/scientist with established reputation who has made significant contribution by publication to the knowledge in the field of Earth Sciences. 


Scale of pay: Rs 37,400–67,000 + AGP 10,000 (Revised) with admissible allowance. Higher initial/maximum of the scale of pay may be offered to highly qualified person.

Age: Not below 45 years and not above 62 years on 1 June2010.
