NBAIM invites applications from scientists, technical officers, research scholars, post-docs and students of
universities/institutes/organizations for the National training programme on ‘Microbial Identification and Gene
Mining: A Bioinformatics Approach’ to be held from 1–10 September 2010. The training programme is
designed to provide an insight of latest bioinformatics tools.
The training will improve molecular identification skill of participants and familiarize the participants to sequence submission, homology search, DNA markers, in silico restriction analysis, multiple sequence alignment, phylogenetic tree construction, sequence data analysis, gene prediction, operon finding, gene annotation, comparative genomics, prediction of 3D structure and homology modelling. The training will bring scientists and research workers at a common platform to exchange experiences and will be helpful in upgrading research and teaching.
The training programme will consist of hands-on research experience, training and exposure to cutting edge research. The fees for the training is Rs 5000 for Scientists/Technical Officer (ICAR/SAU/CSIR/UGC), Rs 2000 for Students/Research Scholar/SRF and total number of participants will be limited to 20 only.
