Short Term Course on Methods in Geochemistry and their Applications
Date: 17–22 January 2011
A short term course on ‘Methods in Geochemistry and their Applications’ for graduate and postgraduate college/university teachers will be held at Centre for Earth Sciences, Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore for a period of one week from 17 to 22 January 2011.
The objective of this short term course is to give the participants hands on training on some of the modern techniques and the theory behind methods of geochemical investigations. The course will expose the participants with broad range of topics ranging from Environmental Geochemistry to the geochemical evolution of early solar system. This training is intended to provide them necessary knowledge to handling modern instruments used in the field of geochemical investigations. The course will consists of lectures everyday and over four hours of practical demonstration hands on training.
Teachers who wish to participate in the workshop may send their application on plain paper with following details: name, age, date of birth, e-mail, official and residential address, telephone and mobile numbers, academic qualifications starting from B.Sc. onwards, teaching experience, course taught, position held and statement indicating their reason for interests in participating in the course and their expectations from the course. Twenty selected teachers will be provided local hospitality and round trip actual of bus fare/train fare (3 tier AC) by shortest route.
