The Institute has large number of various Servers, computers, Central Printers, HPC, high speed LAN. Etc. In order to enhance the computing infrastructure, it is proposed to recruit one Junior Engineer (I T) on contract basis initially for a period of one year

About the Institute
The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology is an autonomous research organisation fully funded by Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi. It is a premier Institute of national and international repute, devoted to research in various aspects of atmospheric sciences with emphasis on tropical meteorology, particularly on the Climate Change and Indian Monsoon. The Institute has excellent infrastructural facilities such as high performance computers, modern library, workshop and other scientific support.

Consolidated Salary: Rs.21000/- per month.

Who Can Apply?
Master in Computer Application/Degree in Engineering or Technology with minimum one year working experience in the field of IT/Computers.
OR
: Diploma in Engineering with minimum three years of working experience in the field of IT/Computers.

Desirable : 1. Working Experience as System Administrator in Linux and Windows platform.
2. Working Experience in CISCO Network Architecture.
Note : REDHAT and CISCO certification will be an added Advantage.

Age : Below 35 years as on 01.01.2010.

Tenure : Initially for a period of one year.

Upper age limit for the above post is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and as per rules for Physically handicapped and ex-servicemen.
