Job Requirements: Field work in India and Laboratory studies in IPGP, Paris, France.Selected person will be posted in Paris.

Experience: Five years experience in the relevant areas in case of Postdoc.
Remuneration:
1. Euro 1850 / p.m. in case of Postdoc position. *
2. Euro 1300 / p.m. in case of JRF position.
* Maximum of Euro 26,000/-p.a. for Postdoc or Euro 26,000 for 18 months for Ph.D student including the cost of international travel and social security.

1. Postdoctoral Positions in Condensed Matter Physics (Theory)
The Institute has openings for postdoctoral positions in theoretical condensed matter physics. These positions are for two years (1+1) and the fellowships are at par with other research institutes in India.
Current activities of the group include statistical physics, disordered systems, superconductivity, correlated systems, mesoscopic physics, nonlinear phenomena in condensed matter. The permanent group members are Somendra M Bhattacharjee, Arun M Jayannavar, Kalyan Kundu, Suresh G Mishra and Goutam Tripathy.

2.POST DOCTORAL POSITION IN EXPERIMENTAL CONDENSED MATTER PHYSICS
Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, an autonomous Institute under Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India has an opening for a postdoctoral position in experimental condensed matter Physics. Currently, the group has a strong programme on clusters, nanostructures, semiconductor nanostructure devices, nanocrystalline solar cells and nano-bio systems for sensor development. The post doctoral fellow is expected to work on one or more areas as outlined above.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree or submitted the thesis in experimental Condensed Matter Physics / Material Science/ Chemistry. Preference will be given to those who have prior experience in working with nanomaterials synthesis and characterization / solar cell / nano-biosystems and semiconductor devices . The position is initially for a period of one year and is extendable by another year subject to satisfactory progress. The amount of fellowship per month, HRA and other admissible allowances will be as per the Institute rule.

Post Doctoral Fellow Vacancy in Indo-French Project at IIT Kanpur

What is this all about?
Applications are invited for the post of Post-doctoral Fellow (Project Scientist) under a joint Indo-French project entitled "Plasmonic properties of checkerboard metallic structures and films" funded by the Indo-French Centre for Promotion of Advanced Research. The position is tenable for one year, and extendable until 31 July 2011 only, upon satisfactory performance. The Post-doctoral fellow will conduct experimental work on developing and making metallic nanostructures with focussed ion beam technology at the Ion Beam facility and measuring the optical properties of the nanostructures. (S)He will need to interface with the French group at the Institut Fresnel, Marseilles, and may be required to work there for short durations.

Essential qualifications: Ph.D. in experimental physics with a reasonable publication record. Candidates whose Ph.D. work was on Optics / Lasers / Thin films will be preferred. Basic computer skills are essential. NET /GATE scores are desirable. Salary will be in the scale 15000-1500-30000 with medical facilities as permissible. Minimum emoluments will be Rs. 20,000/- per month.

What is this all about?
Postdoctoral opening for 2 years is available for Indian Ph.D. graduates under a project funded by Indo–French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research/Centre Franco-Indien pour la Promotion
de La Recherche Avancée (IFCPRA/CEFIPRA).

Project Details:
The project involves waste derived activated carbon supported catalyst for low temperature VOC oxidation. The position will be at Unité de Catalyse et de Chimie du Solide (UCCS), University of Lille, France in collaboration with TERI, India.

Who Can Apply?

Postdoctoral Position in Solar Physics at IISER, Pune | ISRO funded project

What is this all about?
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, India, invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in Solar Physics.

Who Can Apply?
The successful applicant should have a PhD in physics/astrophysics, and be interested in plasma astrophysics/solar physics.

Project Details/Area of Work
(S)he will work with Dr Prasad Subramanian in the general area of the propagation and terrestrial effects of solar coronal mass ejections (CMEs). The work will involve a combination of theory and analysis of data from sources like SOHO and the GRAPES-3 cosmic ray telescope. MHD and/or particle plasma simulations are also a possibility.

Fellowship/Stipend
This position is funded through a RESPOND grant from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The initial appointment will be for two years, with a performance review at the end of the first year. The stipend will be as per ISRO norms.
