The Institute for Plasma Research is a premier scientific institute under the Department of Atomic Energy; Govt. of India devoted to research and development activities in the areas of basic Plasma Physics, Magnetic Confinement fusion and industrial applications of plasmas. Applications are invited from highly motivated and result oriented candidates for the posts of :
Sl.No.1 ENGINEER – SC (MECHANICAL / METALLURGY)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) (First Class) in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy having minimum one year working experience .
The person for mechanical should have relevant experience in engineering design and analysis (Heat transfer, thermal hydraulics and structural design) using ANSYS software or its equivalent. The person for metallurgy should have relevant experience in steel development and material characterization (mechanical and metallographic testing) related work.
JOB DESCRIPTION (MECHANICAL) : (No. of Post –1) : The person is expected to work in engineering design such as thermal hydraulics, thermo-mechanical and structural design and analysis of Test Blanket Module system using ANSYS and CATIA software.
JOB DESCRIPTION (METALLURGY) : (No. of Posts –2):The person is expected to work in the area of Materials development (Stainless steel, Ferritic & Martensitic steels ) and material characterization (mechanical and metallographic studies). The person is also expected to work closely with other DAE units (IGCAR Kalpakkam & BARC, Mumbai) for materials development related tasks.
Sl.No.2 SCIENTIST - SC (No. of Posts – 2)
QUALIFICATION and EXPERIENCE : M.Sc. Physics/Applied Physics (First Class) having minimum one year working experience in research & development activities. Experience in computational lectromagnetics, electromagnetic wave propagation will be given preference.
JOB DESCRIPTION : The person is expected to work on microwave reflectometry system and Collective Thomson scattering system.
Sl.No.3 ENGINEER – SC (ELECTRONICS and COMMUNICATION) (No. of Post – 1)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) (First Class) in Electronics & Communication Engineering having minimum one year working experience in research & development activities. Experience in microwave circuits, instrumentation and measurement will be given preference.
JOB DESCRIPTION : The person is expected to work on microwave radiometry hardware and measurements.
Sl.No.4 ENGINEER (PROJECT) (MECHANICAL) (No. of Posts – 5)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) (First Class) in Mechanical Engineering having minimum one year working experience in CAD / CAM / ANSYS Softwares.
JOB DESCRIPTION : The selected candidates are expected to work in Design Engineering, Area of thermal hydraulics, thermo-mechanical and structural analysis using CAD design and ANSYS analysis.
Sl.No.5 ENGINEER (PROJECT) (CIVIL) (No. of Post – 1)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) (First Class) in Civil Engineering having minimum 1 year experience in building construction work and site supervision work and should be computer literate.
JOB DESCRIPTION : The selected candidate will be required to do day to day supervision & execution of works to ensure best quality & workmanship, to co-ordinate with Contractors, Architects & Consultants, study & scrutiny of drawings, preparation of estimates including rate analysis & Tender documents, correspondence & maintaining records related to project, Scrutiny and verification of bills including taking and recording measurements and all project related work and any other work assigned from time to time.
Sl.No.6 ENGINEER (PROJECT) (ELECTRICAL) (No. of Post – 1)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) (First Class) in Electrical Engineering having minimum 1 year experience in Design and implementation of electrical (low voltage and high voltage) systems, testing of various electrical systems and cross-integration between disciplines of related engineering fields.
JOB DESCRIPTION : The selected candidate will be required to do development, integration and commissioning of various electrical systems like LT distribution system, RF generator system, low voltage and high voltage power supply systems and various high voltage devices.
GENERAL INFORMATION
PAY SCALE : ENGINEER / SCIENTIST - SC : Pay Band 3 (PB-3) Rs. 15600-39100 with basic Grade Pay Rs.5400/- (Gross Pay Rs..30870/- p.m.)
REMUNERATION for the posts at Sl.No. 4 to 6: Consolidated Rs.29000/- p.m.

The number of vacancies indicate above are provisional and may be increased / decreased depending on the actual requirement of the organisation.
The posts at Sl.No. 4 to 6 are purely temporary for a period of ONE YEAR OR co-terminus with the project. It would, therefore, not confer any right / claim implicit or explicit for any candidates for claiming extension or absorption in IPR. Separate applications should be submitted with supportings for separate posts
AGE LIMIT: 35 years and relaxable by 5 years for SC / ST candidates.
In addition to pay and allowances, Medical Scheme facility under its Contributory Health Service Scheme, Free Transport and subsidized Canteen facilities are admissible for the above posts. For Sl.No.1 to 3 perquisites like New Pension Scheme, Gratuity, LTC, Group Linked Insurance Scheme are admissible as per Institute rules. Sleeper Class / Second Class to and fro Rail / State Transport bus fare by direct and shortest route will be reimbursed to outstation candidates called for interview on production of ticket or proof of journey such as Railway / Bus ticket or ticket no .
