FACULTY POSITIONS
The National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) is recruiting scientists with potential for intellectual leadership and passion for both research and teaching in cutting-edge areas of Neuroscience. The primary research interest of the institute is on the brain and brain related disorders. Current research focuses on the areas of molecular, systems, cognitive, computational, imaging and different aspects of clinical neurosciences.
Candidates with interests in the above areas and in other multidisciplinary and novel approaches to the understanding of the brain and brain disorders are encouraged to apply.
NBRC is situated in the scenic foothills of Aravali ranges about 40 Kms from the heart of National Capital. The nearest town Manesar is situated inthe idyllic lush green ranges of Aravali in near the historic city as well
as the modern city of Gurgaon on a beautiful hilltop. The sylvansurrounding provides ideal environment for research and education. The institute has state of art facilities such as confocal microscopes, live cell imager, animal facility for rodents (including transgenic and knockout animals), birds and primates, and research dedicated imaging facility with a 3 tesla MRI and EEG. The Institute is in the process of acquiring a 2 photon microscope for in vivo imaging of the rodent and primate brain. NBRC has seamless collaboration with other National Institutes/Universities and leading hospitals and clinical centers of the region. NBRC actively promotes collaborative research and sharing of resources. Appointments will be at the level of Assistant Professor and higher depending on the quantum of experience and the quality of the scientific productivity. A demonstrated record of scientific output in the form of recent peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals of high
international repute is essential. Post-doctoral experience with some indication of independent scientific thinking is a prerequisite. Appropriate levels of experience and scientific accomplishment will be considered for appointments at various levels of seniority.
Investigators will be provided adequate laboratory space and extremely generous startup resources including manpower. They are expected eventually to genera extramural project-based funding for their research programmes.
