One Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position, funded by the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi is available under a project entitled "Black Holes and D-brane world geometries". Selected candidate needs
to do research under the supervision of Principal Investigator in the mentioned topic, which lies in the domain of String Theory (High Energy Physics-Theory).

Monthly JRF fellowship under the project is:
1) Rs 16,000- (+ HRA @ 30% ) with a valid NET (fellowship) OR
2) Rs 12,000- (+ HRA @ 30% ) with a valid NET (lectureship)
The available position (JRF for 20-months and SRF, could be with monthly fellowship of Rs. 18,000- + HRA, for 12-months) is for a total period of 32-months (until 31st August 2013).

1. Genetics of seed size and oil content in Brassica juncea (oilseed mustard).
2. Mapping and identification of loci in Brassica species conferring resistance to different isolates of
white rust (Albugo candida).
3. Molecular characterization of gene(s) involved with conferring resistance to Alternaria brassicae in
model crucifer Arabidopsis thaliana.
4. Variability amongst isolates of Alternaria bassicae (blight), Albugo candida (white rust) and
Sclerotimia sclerotiorum (stem rot) using molecular markers and through the use of varietal and
species differentiation.
